Search Serverless is a globally distributed database service in order to provide simple deployment and low latency. Every piece of infrastructure is replicable to 13 regions around the world: 4 in the US, 1 in South America, 3 in Europe, 3 in Asia, and 1 in Australia.

No matter what, the search API and the indexes API are deploying to all 13 regions distributed around the globe. This is to ensure the lowest possible latency from wherever your frontend is located.

Your data is stored in the location(s) you select when creating your index. For the cheapest possible option, choose a single region close to the majority of your traffic. For the best possible performance, choose global, and place your data in every region there is an API.
